The Power of Worshiping Adonai
Worshiping Adonai is a great arsenal and strategy in a Believer’s spiritual war against principalities and powers. Throughout the Bible we see how the Levites used it in battle [Joshua 6:1-27], King David sang psalms to the Lord in times of distress and we see angelic hosts exalting Adonai to proclaim his dominion over all [Revelation 7:11-12].
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Isaiah 6:1-3 KJV
The Kingly nature of Adonai means he is worthy of continuous glory, honour and praise from us. Just as the seraphim, cherubim, archangels and others do in heaven.
Angelic Rebellion
A significant factor from the War In Heaven in which one third of the angelic host transgressed against Adonai’s authority, was Lucifer’s rebellious desire to gain the same worship Adonai received [Isaiah 14:13-14]. Lucifer’s personal praise and glory was massive on the agenda to sow discord in heaven. This was a fatal mistake.
Some of the eventually expelled “fallen angels”, along with Lucifer, were potentially very high ranking at the time of their fall. They then would have later become principalities and powers over this world [Revelation 12:7-12]. In the book of Daniel we hear of the prince of Persia involved in spiritual angelic warfare against Michael the archangel, one of the chief princes in Heaven [Daniel 10:13]. There is also mention of the prince of Greece, another principality [Daniel 10:20]. These are some of the same principalities and powers fighting against the children of Adonai in the world today and they also desire our worship!
Resisting the Fallen Ones: What does my worship to El Shaddai do for me?
It is written, submit to God, resist the devil and he shall flee [James 4:7]. This also means submitting to God’s authority, resisting principalities/powers and they too shall flee. A tool for resisting the kingdom of darkness is not just through our praying and fasting alone; but through worshiping Adonai just like his mighty angels are doing in this very moment.
When I worship Adonai it is more than just simply praising the Lord. I am also denying principalities and powers: fallen angels like BAAL and Asherah (the spirit that influenced Jezebel) of my praise, glory and honour. 1 Chronicles 16:25 states; “for great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.” By worshiping Adonai you take away power of the enemy (hurting their pride) and at the same time you draw the attention of Adonai. I have decided to add worship to my weaponry.
Your walls of Jericho: Knowing Your Battle & the Blood of the Lamb

Many of us have unique battles against powers and principalities. Everyone has battles specific to their culture, nation, family ancestry and heritage. Through worship, prayer and fasting we can ask Adonai for wisdom in order to discern, through his grace, which specific principalities and powers we come up against [Ephesians 6:12].
While worship, prayer and fasting is resourceful for Believers. Without the blood of Yeshua we have no authority in this world against spiritual forces [Revelation 12:11]. Yeshua states in Luke 10:18-19, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” The same power that allowed our saviour Yeshua to conquer death and hell [Revelation 1:18]. Is the same power we posses through his Word [Hebrews 4:12]. In Matthew 4:4, Yeshua states, “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:54, 56-58 KJV
Just as Adonai instructed Joshua to command the Levites to blow their trumpets through worship on the seventh day, alongside the shouts of the children of Israel, leading to the demise of the inhabitants of Jericho and the crumbling of the great walls. May the spiritual Jericho Walls in your life fall because of your submission to Adonai’s direction after you have prayed, fasted and continue to worship him. Moreover, ensure you hold unto the power of the blood of Yeshua to overcome the adversary [Revelation 12:11].
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Revelation 12:7-12 KJV
